YANOMAMI: CHILDREN OF EDEN This repertoire of images comprise a documentary project on the Yanomami Indians in the Brazilian Amazon rainforest in the making since 1995. The Yanomami are regarded to be the last stone age people residing in the Amazon rainforest. Currently, there are close to 25,000 Yanomami Indians living scattered on the border region between Brazil and Venezuela. Their land is rich in noble woods like mahogany and strategic minerals like uranium, niobium as well as gold and diamonds. The Yanomami are the last human remnant of the noble savage, the natural ecologist who lived at peace in nature in an enlightened unity with all of creation. Their culture is being endangered by the encroachment of western settlers.
